Neil Wallis acquitted on charges of phone hacking

Neil Wallis, represented by Phil Smith, has been cleared of charges of conspiracy to hack phones.  This long running case has brought to the public attention issues relating to the criminal justice process which are far wider than those in the case itself – including the length of time that Mr Wallis was on bail, before being released from bail and then re-arrested prior to charge.
