Tuckers merge with Robin Murray & Co Solicitors

December 4, 2013

We are delighted that we have finalised the terms of our partnership with Robin Murray & Co. The Robin Murray & Co name will continue to exist and, as far as possible, the practice will continue in its current form under its current management. The benefits to both parties are the ability to share resources and back office functions to lower the overall costs of practice.

The fundamentals of criminal defence practice are increasing investment in digitalisation of the service at the same time as managing declining revenues through falling volumes and cuts to fees. We also have to face up to reforms to legal aid which will be implemented as a result of the government’s latest consultation. We are simply trying to meet this challenge through sharing the costs of practice more widely.

Adam Makepeace, Practice Director for Tuckers said, “I am pleased to welcome Robin Murray & Co., they are a firm with a 25 year history and strong presence in Kent with ambition to grow and I believe that even in these very challenging times this new arrangement will allow them to expand to our mutual benefit.”

Richard Atkinson Managing Partner of Robin Murray &Co welcomed the deal “in these very challenging times it makes sense to seek to benefit from pooled resources. This deal allows us to maintain a high degree of independence and to directly benefit from the success of the business whilst drawing strength from being part of a major organisation with all of its strengths and capabilities.”
