Isobel Simpson- Lucas

Isobel is a Paralegal based at our Manchester office. After studying criminology at Manchester University, Isobel found an interest in criminal law, and is now in the arrangement process of her training to qualify as a lawyer. Whilst she regularly attends upon clients and assists in general Magistrates’ Court work, she is predominantly involved in the Complex Casework Department. She provides support to our senior partner, Leigh Wright, and has direct involvement with clients in large-scale cases involving Terrorism, Drug Importation and High Value Fraud.

Her casework includes dealing with international extradition cases from Europe and beyond. She has experience defending high level fraud, as well as some of the biggest Drug Conspiracy prosecutions ever undertaken by the NCA and CPS in England and Wales. Indeed, she has direct contact with all national specialist prosecutors on a daily basis. She is also gaining experience dealing with confiscation enforcement and financial crime in both international and domestic jurisdictions, including Account Freezing Orders, POCA 2002 Restraint Orders and Cash Forfeiture.

Due to her specialized workload, she is able to apply her complex casework experience and client care to even the smallest casework she may encounter during her time assisting at the Magistrates’ Court. She aims to leave no stone unturned when defending her clients at all levels.
