Police Powers

Police Powers

Since the Terrorism Act 2000, and notably since September 11th, police officers investigating terrorist offences can now draw from an even wider pool of powers than ever before. The legislative trend has been towards extending these powers still. Instances where these powers exceed those that are applicable in other criminal investigations are common. Police powers include the power stop, search and arrest under The Terrorism Act 2000.
